In performances, drawings and in his more conceptual works, Roland Maurmair aims to render and emotionalize what could be meant by “nature” and “technology.” Humorously, loudly, subversively and subtly, he takes the side of the unseen and singled-out, of a sustainability that roots in the unconscious, of a longue-durée reasoning. Maurmair’s animistic Big Mama is hell-bent on technique, anarchic, and always poetic.
