TYPOPASSAGE 1

Alex Trochut's approach to the location and the city of Vienna is playful and associative. The conceptual point of departure is the metaphoric song "Pequeno Vals Vienés" by Frederico García Lorca about Vienna. This well-known Spanish writer and musician inspired Leonard Cohen's interpretation "Take this Waltz" (1988), half a centuty later. Trochut layers both titles as a picture puzzle of thick and thin letters that seem to be camouflage pattern at first glance. They only open up upon closer inspection, as if their meaning was just beginning to emerge.
