At the turn of the 20th to 2st century, a reductionist working method, manifesting itself in ever-new variations, has become the hallmark of Horákova + Maurer. New inquiries into, and analyses of the photographic process have been thrusting themselves to the forefront with ever-greater commitment. This approach to working has caught on significantly and rapidly, not only because, alongside the secured traditional positions, photography, in this digital age, has expanded extraordinarily in the private sphere, but also because a veritable flood of images determines the visual surface of our media space into which the public space has long since been incorporated.
